Another nice feature is the ability to choose between two different levels of cleaning. The Eco mode operates the vacuum more quietly and increases the time of use, while the Turbo mode delivers more effective cleaning. However Turbo mode operates at an antisocial volume, which can be frustrating in the event that you're using the D7 while you're working or watching television.
The D7 is one of the few robots that are able to create and store multiple floor plans, which is ideal for multi-level homes. It also comes with an auto recharge and resume feature. If the battery dies before it finishes cleaning, it automatically makes its return to its base to recharge and then resumes where it began.
The RoboVac 11S performs much better than its predecessor and the RoboVac 30C, which is more eufy and also better than the ILIFE A4s and bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. It has a larger dirt compartment, a longer battery life and is able to clear more debris from low-pile carpets and high pile carpets to bare floors. It is also better-built, easier to maintain, incurs fewer recurring costs and can maneuver itself more efficiently.
This isn't the best robot vacuum for bare floors however it's a good option for those with medium carpets and pets. It uses random navigation to get around the room and feels its way through obstacles using sensors located in its front bumper and underbelly. It's not as advanced as the mapping technology in other robots, but it does the job well enough and gets into places that other robots cannot reach. The Q5 is one of the slowest-moving robots that we've tested, but it has an effective layout algorithm that doesn't require to be watched over after its first run through an area. It starts by mapping out the perimeter, and then fills in the interior using an array of parallel lines. After it's completed, it returns to its charging station, or its starting location if it was able to depart from the base.
It did a very respectable job of cleaning hardwood flooring and sucking up at least 88% of dirt for each test. It had more trouble with low- and high-pile carpets however, it still performed better than the standard unit. It also has a mopping attachment to clean up wet spills. We didn't test it.
Its maneuverability is superior for a robot with lidar, and it is able to softly bump into furniture and other obstacles. Its navigation system can detect stairs and floors with multiple levels, which is a nice feature that allows it to effectively tackle homes with multiple stories. It can also identify individual rooms when you choose them in the app. It can also adjust its power level, establish no-go zones and view a map of the cleaning area.
